What is and is not allowed on urlreview. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.
Our purpose
urlreview is a place for honest, useful reviews of links on the internet. Criticising a site, product, company or article is welcome; attacking people is not.
Zero tolerance: not allowed
- Sexual, obscene or pornographic content; any content sexualising minors (reported to authorities).
- Insults, profanity, humiliation, bullying and harassment.
- Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- Threats of violence or encouraging violence or self-harm.
- Sharing other people's personal data (phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers, private photos, etc.).
- Spam, advertising, referral links, gambling and adult-site promotion.
- Fake, paid-for or competitor-damaging reviews; rating manipulation with multiple accounts.
- Malware, phishing or scam links.
- Praising or supporting terrorism, violent extremism or criminal organisations.
- Selling or promoting illegal goods and services (drugs, weapons, forged documents, etc.).
- Impersonating a person, brand or organisation in a misleading way.
- Images, audio or documents made or altered to deceive people.
- Any unlawful content.
When you write a review
- You can write one review per link and edit or delete it at any time.
- Base your rating on the content of the link and your own experience.
- Do not review links you were paid or otherwise compensated to review.
- Do not make unverified allegations about people; criticise the content.
- If you review your own business, your employer or a site you are closely connected to, say so clearly in your review; do not review your competitors.
- Coordinated mass rating of a site up or down (review bombing) is not allowed.
Your profile follows the rules too
Profile photos, header photos, display names, usernames, bios and website links must also follow these rules. Sexual or hateful images, other people's photos used without permission and links to harmful sites are removed.
Self-harm
If you see someone sharing thoughts of self-harm, report the content; if there is immediate danger, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and the EU). Such content is reviewed with priority so the person can be pointed to help.
How the rules are enforced
Content passes an automatic word filter and, where enabled, an AI-assisted check before it is published. Suspicious content is held for moderator approval. Content reported by three different users is hidden automatically until it is reviewed.
Violating content is removed. Depending on severity, the account gets a warning, a temporary mute or a permanent ban; severe violations lead to an immediate ban.
If you disagree with a decision, you can appeal to destek@urlreview.com within 14 days of learning about it.
Reporting and blocking
- Report content that breaks these rules with “Report” in the review's menu. Report an inappropriate profile photo, header photo, name or bio with “Report” on the profile. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
- Block users who bother you from a review's menu or their profile. You will not see their content, they cannot reply to you and their notifications will not reach you. Manage blocked accounts in Settings.
